A reference for pallet terminology — from GMA spec to ISPM-15 compliance, stringer construction to block pallets. Built by Nevada's pallet authority since 2001.

If you're new to pallet procurement — or just want a clean reference — this glossary covers the essential terms used in pallet manufacturing, distribution, recycling, and international compliance.
- GMA Pallet — Grocery Manufacturers Association standard, 48×40 inches
- ISPM-15 — International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15, the global wood-packaging treaty
- IPPC Stamp — International Plant Protection Convention mark, indicates ISPM-15 treatment
- Heat-Treated (HT) — Wood treated to 56°C core for 30 minutes, kills pathogens, ISPM-15 compliant
- Stringer Pallet — Two-way entry pallet with stringers (long boards) connecting deck boards
- Block Pallet — Four-way entry pallet with corner and edge blocks
- Deck Board — Top and bottom horizontal boards forming the loading surfaces
- Grade A / B / C — Used pallet grading from like-new (A) to economical one-way (C)
- Re-Manufactured (Re-mfg) — Pallet built from salvaged lumber, GMA-spec compliant
- Buyback — Vendor program purchasing usable surplus pallets from end users
