What Grade A, B, and C pallets actually mean — and which grade is right for your specific operation.
Pallet grading is the industry's system for communicating the condition and expected performance of used pallets. Choosing the right grade for your application can significantly reduce your pallet cost without compromising your operation.
Grade A pallets are like-new in condition. No broken boards, no missing blocks or stringers, no significant wear. They're suitable for the most demanding applications including food-grade, pharmaceutical, and high-value goods.
Grade B pallets show minor cosmetic wear but are structurally sound. They may have one repaired board or minor surface staining. Ideal for warehousing, distribution, and most manufacturing applications.
Grade C or Combo pallets are functional but show visible repairs and wear. Two or more repaired boards. Best for one-way shipments, construction staging, or applications where pallet appearance doesn't matter.
